The band had a great turn out at this years ANZAC Day service. It was the largest ensemble for the band in a number of years with 25 playing members present. The sound produced by the musicians was superb and many people made some very positive comments on the standard of the playing and the tempo of the hymns. The intonation and balance was extremely well maintained throughout the parade. The Band also interspersed playing with the Mackay Choral Society where the band played a chart and then the Choral society sang the same chart. The band also played a number of marches that were a hit with the large crowd, as they recognised what was being played. Many thanks to all who participated and I am hoping that this will be the first of many performances this year that will demonstrate to the public of Mackay that the band is now very serious in its endeavours to provide quality musical performances for the benefit of both the Citizens of Mack
